I noticed this dapper gentleman at a coffee shop the other day. He was happy to let me make his portrait as long as I took a photo of him with my girlfriend. I shot two frames. This was the first one.

I had the opportunity to spend just shy of a month in India at the beginning of this year. As promised, it was a mix of fascination and frustration. There’s too many stories to cover here, but hopefully the photos will give folks a sense of what the experience was like. Enjoy.

My collaborator and good friend Adrian Lee has been growing dreads since we first met in 1995. In the intervening 17 years, Adrian’s locks had grown to past his knees and despite their strange power to attract nubiles like moths to a flame, the head from which the smelly ropes sprouted decided it was time for a new look. Not one to miss a chance to indulge his ego, Adrian figured the best thing to do was make an elaborate short film to document the transformation. To that end, we assembled the troops and headed for the hills above San Francisco, armed with cameras, a 4-year-old stand in, a 7 foot tall mirror, and all manor of sheers. The result was a sunburned head and the movie we are proud to present to you today. Enjoy!
